April 15, 2018
Sunday

Preregistration for this event is now closed. Limited Day of Event registration will be available while map supplies last.

COURSE SETTER NOTES are now available. Please read this important safety information.

Are you up to the ultimate Griffith Park Trail Challenge? Participants will have a four hour time limit to accrue points by visiting control locations throughout the park. This will be a great physical day out in L.A.'s premier park. Fun for hiking families as well as serious runners and navigators.

Due to the length and physical difficulty of the course, we encourage running with a partner or in a team for safety. Individual entries will, however, be accepted.

Some sort of award will be presented to the top scoring entry in each of the following categories:

  • Individual Male
  • Individual Female
  • Junior Team (all members born in 1998 or later)
  • Male Team
  • Female Team
  • Mixed Team
  • Family Team (at least one Junior and one Adult)
  • Masters Team (all team members born in 1968 or earlier)

Maps will be passed out at 9:30am so you have some time to strategize. All participants will mass start at 10:00am and are expected back by 2:00pm. You may start late, but will still need to be back by 2:00pm. Points will be deducted for returning late. Controls will be retrieved beginning at 2:30pm.

Beginner instruction will begin at 9:00am for anyone needing it.

This event will use manual pin-punching. E-punch is not required.

Can't make it on the 15th? We can use help setting up the course on Saturday, April 14th. Contact Clare if you can help.
