About LAOC
Los Angeles Orienteering Club (LAOC) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to promoting participation in orienteering through organized activities and events, education about the sport of orienteering, instruction in map reading and land navigation and to supporting enjoyment of natural resources and respect for wildlife and the environment among the members of LAOC and the general public.
As a non-profit and volunteer run organization, the club relies upon its members to set-up and run events. While not required, club members are encouraged to participate not only as competitors, but also as course designers, course setters, and general event support. Help from all skill levels is welcome and additional skills training can be provided. As club member involvement and participation grows, we can hold more events and ultimately spend more time enjoying this great sport.
